I thought I would do this blog to document what happens when somebody takes over a new allotment.
Usually, a new plot will be overgrown, full of perennial weeds, and full of "buried treasure". This will usually include rotten wood, metal, glass, tools etc. I was strimming my new plot a couple of weeks ago and found a pristine digging fork !
Result !
I will attempt to show you the steps needed to get a plot functioning, right from the first time you will set eyes on it (and then stand there staring for 10 minutes with your mouth open)
until you get something worthwhile to eat from it.
My new plot is a large one (approx 50 x 60 feet) and looked like this when I got it a few months ago
